Step-by-Step Guide

How to File a Secure Complaint

We bridge the gap between your voice and official accountability. Here is how we process your report and what issues we can address.

Scope of Oversight

As a citizen oversight committee, we focus on lack of transparency and accountability within state departments. We investigate systemic failures where public trust has been broken.

  • Department Transparency: Agency mismanagement, hidden policies, refusal to release public records, or lack of public data.
  • Safety & Accountability: Failure to address known safety risks in hospitals, group homes, or state-run facilities.
  • Child Welfare (DCFS/DFS): Systemic negligence, lack of oversight in foster placements, or ignored abuse reports.
  • Ethical Violations: Conflicts of interest, retaliation against whistleblowers, or misuse of public funds.

Outside Our Purview

  • Private Disputes: Individual billing disagreements with private insurance (unless part of a systemic fraud pattern).
  • Medical Malpractice: Clinical negligence claims should be referred to the State Bar or medical board.
  • Interpersonal HR Issues: Employment disputes unrelated to public safety, fraud, or whistleblower retaliation.
